I began my fine art education at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine where students are taught contemporary concepts of design. I then transferred to Lyme Academy of Fine Art in Old Lyme, Connecticut where I majored in Life Sculpture. Lyme Academy is a traditional school of fine art and it is there that I took courses in figurative sculpture and bas relief sculpture.
Since completing my formal art education in 1998, I have created a body of work that includes in the round figurative sculpture and bas relief sculpture based mainly on observation of the landscape and plants. In my work I attempt to combine traditional bronze sculptural techniques with contemporary ideas of two and three dimensional design. My study and love of art history also greatly influences my work.
Bronze Sculpture Ordering Information and Guidelines
The final patina or coloration of bronze sculpture is done by applying acids and heat to the finished cast piece. Final coloration will vary from piece to piece. Castings are made of sculptures as they are ordered and may take up to ten weeks to complete.
Bronze sculptures are cast in limited editions according to National Sculpture Society guidelines.
